With all the ups and downs I have experienced in life, I would say the one human trait that has helped me overcome difficult situations is understanding the importance of "reflection" and "renewal". Every once in a while I have to pull myself away from all the daily activities, chores and interruptions and just focus on Christine.
Take a pause and ask:
1. What should I keep doing?
2. What should I stop doing?
3. What should I start doing to be more effective?
No matter what your situation is in life, whether you are stone broke or in pursuit of becoming a great leader in a business; honestly working through these 3 simple questions will get you through AND to the next level. I know this to be from my own experiences in both personal affairs and managing a team of employees.

Five-Steps Strategy to Successful Leadership By Anandrahi JS
Large number of books has been written on the qualities which a leader must have to lead people or a team to victory. Volumes have been written on how to develop those qualities. This article is a brief introduction to successful leadership. In fact, good leaders are made or created not born. Any body can become an effective leader with the help of his strong will-power and constantly developing through a process of self-analysis, training and experience. Here is a simple five-point ladder which can take up you to the place of a successful leader.
1. A GRAND VISION
A leader can’t exist without a grand vision. Every successful leader has a grand vision of the things he want to do – the aim he wants to achieve. Only a grand vision can spur you to great action. Complete and detailed map of the vision is imprinted in the mind of a leader.
2. HE KNOW HIS WEAKNESSES AN STRENGTHS
A wise leader is always aware about his weaknesses and strengths. With right evaluation of his traits it is not difficult for him to face his opponents or win wars. He uses his strengths to its maximum capability and avoids the dangerous consequences of his weakness by employing able persons. If he does not know computer he get a computer operator in his office. If he doesn’t know maths he keeps an expert accountant to do the job.
3. DETERMINED TO GROWTH
A good leader is as determined as Himalayas to ensure continuous growth of his project. He is able to work for more than 24 hours in a day and complete his pending work. Growth is his primary objective. And he leaves no stone unturned to hit it.
4. DEVELOPS SECOND LINE OF LEADERS
Theodore Roosevelt said that “the best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done.” A sensible and wise leader knows that he can’t handle all the responsibilities alone and for ever. There fore he always train talented persons as a second line of leadership. This line handle is always ready to execute his projects carefully. It is also his master mind group. A leader can get amazing power only if he has very able persons – making second line of leadership.
5. HAVE TOTAL COMMITMENT
A great leader is always immensely committed to his dreams and his people. No difficulty or opposition has the power to daunt his enthusiasm for total commitment. It is with him till he lives. And this great commitment forms an aura of dynamism around him. His followers are mesmerised by his aura.
I am ending this short article with the words of great management guru Peter Drucker – “Leadership is not magnetic personality—that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not making friends and influencing people—that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.
